Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM NIGHT

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
Monitor and record basic vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
Document resident care accurately and promptly to ensure continuity
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — required
State GNA registry/credential as required by Maryland
Comfortable working per-diem evening shifts (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
Able to pass required background check and health screenings
Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and teamwork orientation

Education

Completion of a certified GNA training program
High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
Understanding of infection control and proper hygiene practices
Basic charting/documentation skills and attention to detail
Safe resident handling and mobility assistance techniques
Strong interpersonal skills and compassionate bedside manner
