Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms, instrumentation, and supplies for pediatric surgical procedures
Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure a safe environment for each patient
Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently to support smooth procedures
Perform instrument counts and assist with setup, turnover, and cleanup of the OR
Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia to deliver excellent perioperative care
Participate in orientation and ongoing training to stay current with pediatric surgical best practices

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent clinical training
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
BLS (Basic Life Support) required or willingness to obtain prior to start
Pediatric OR experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical skills are welcome
Current licensure/certifications as required by state and facility
Able to pass background check, drug screen, and required immunizations

Education

Surgical Technology certificate or Associate degree in Surgical Technology

Knowledge & Skills

Proven knowledge of OR instrumentation and sterile processing
Strong understanding of aseptic technique and surgical safety protocols
Ability to anticipate needs in a fast-paced surgical environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills when working with multidisciplinary teams
Attention to detail for accurate counts and documentation
Comfort working with pediatric patients and family-centered care approaches
