Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered med/surg nursing care across assigned units
• Perform timely assessments and documentation in the electronic health record
• Conduct NIHSS assessments for stroke patients and escalate per protocol
• Apply ACLS/BLS interventions when clinically indicated and lead resuscitation efforts as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and float to other departments as scheduled
• Participate in suicide prevention procedures and complete mandated trainings
• Maintain clear communication with patients, families, and teammates to promote quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Washington State nursing license or accepted multistate (compact) license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Completion/verification of approved 6-hour suicide prevention training
• Demographic verification via Nursys as required
• Comfortable working in Med/Surg environments; Meditech experience is helpful but not required
• Team player mindset and willingness to float to other departments in rotation

Education

• Registered Nursing diploma/Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active RN licensure (WA or compact multistate) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Med/Surg nursing knowledge and best practices
• Stroke assessment skills (NIHSS) and recognition of neurologic changes
• Proficiency or working knowledge of Meditech preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and acute care assessment abilities
• Effective communication and teamwork across departments
• Familiarity with ACLS protocols and emergency response workflows
