Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside critical care for ICU patients, including ventilator management and post-CABG care
• Continuously monitor hemodynamics and respond to changes with timely interventions
• Manage care for high-acuity patients including ECMO and transplant/post-op populations when applicable
• Perform accurate and timely documentation in Meditech and communicate clear bedside shift reports
• Collaborate with intensivists, multidisciplinary teams, patients and families to develop and execute care plans
• Lead safe medication administration, advanced cardiac life support interventions, and CPR when needed
• Support unit quality goals and contribute to a respectful, professional patient experience

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses will NOT be accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years ICU experience (CVICU/critical care experience strongly preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proven competency with ventilated patients, hemodynamic monitoring and post-CABG care
• Experience with Meditech preferred
• Comfortable working in a very high-acuity environment (ECMO/heart transplant experience a plus)
• Strong communication skills and commitment to bedside shift report and excellent patient experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and ICU workflows
• Ventilator management and respiratory therapy collaboration
• Invasive hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Post-operative cardiac care (CABG, CVOR familiarity)
• ECMO fundamentals and high-acuity cardiac care exposure
• Electronic medical record proficiency (Meditech preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization and emergency response (ACLS/CPR)
