Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate ICU nursing care for critically ill adults
• Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP and advanced airway support with confidence
• Perform central line care, assist with blood transfusions and monitor for complications
• Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry, respond promptly to alarms
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient-centered plans
• Document all care accurately in Meditech Expanse to ensure continuity and compliance
• Support patient experience efforts and contribute to a positive, team-focused unit culture

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in good standing (compact accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience (must-have)
• BLS and ACLS required; NIH certification current (annual recertification expected)
• Comfortable with ventilators, telemetry monitoring, central lines and blood transfusions
• Ability to float to PCU, 3rd floor or ED as staffing needs require
• Professional, team-oriented communicator who prioritizes patient safety

Education

• Active Registered Nurse license (RN) in good standing; compact license accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and advanced airway support (BiPAP/CPAP)
• Telemetry monitoring and Philips telemetry system familiarity
• Meditech Expanse documentation experience
• Central line care, port access and therapeutic phlebotomy
• Chest tube and NG tube management, wound VAC and drain care
• Experience with Baxter pumps, glucometer use, and post-dialysis assessment
• Comfort assisting with physician-led procedures such as paracentesis
