Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist during a broad range of surgical procedures, maintaining strict sterile technique
• Prepare, organize and maintain surgical instruments, equipment and supplies for cases
• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instruments and supplies promptly and accurately
• Document intraoperative events and assist with Meditech EMR charting as required
• Maintain OR safety and infection control standards, ensuring a clean and compliant environment
• Collaborate with RN and OR staff to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality perioperative care
• Support specialty cases including orthopedics, neurosurgery and robotics when needed

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR surgical scrub experience (as listed)
• Comfortable scrubbing a range of specialties including general, ortho and neuro
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR is a plus
• Friendly, professional and self-motivated with strong teamwork skills
• Willingness to work rotating weekends and participate in on-call schedule

Knowledge & Skills

• Operating Room (OR) workflow and sterile field management
• Surgical scrub techniques and instrument handling
• Experience with orthopedics (totals & trauma), neurosurgery and general surgery robotics
• Meditech EMR familiarity for perioperative documentation
• Strong communication and teamwork in high-pressure situations
• Ability to prepare specialty trays and anticipate case needs
