Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled respiratory care and treatment for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia, and emphysema
• Assess patient respiratory status and implement appropriate interventions including CPAP and BIPAP therapy
• Manage and operate respiratory equipment such as oxygen cylinders, concentrators, nebulizers, and suction machines
• Document patient care accurately in the Meditech EMR and communicate critical findings to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Respond quickly and professionally to emergency and on-call situations
• Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives on the unit

Qualifications

• Current RRT credential required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are absolute must-haves
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• ICU experience is a strong plus and will be considered first

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with CPAP and BIPAP therapy
• Proficiency with oxygen delivery systems including cylinders and concentrators
• Skilled with nebulizer and suction equipment
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for accurate documentation
• Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills
• Team-oriented communication and collaboration with physicians and nursing staff
