Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour schedule, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (typically 3 nights/week; schedule self-entered and may vary; weekends variable) Night orientation: first week Mon-Fri dayshift for orientation, second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for adult and geriatric surgical oncology and med-surg patients on a mixed-acuity unit
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics and complex drips (insulin, heparin) per protocol
- Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias and initiate appropriate dysrhythmia management
- Prevent infections and falls through adherence to established protocols and active patient education
- Respond to oncologic emergencies and cytokine release syndrome with clinical judgment and rapid coordination with the team
- Document patient care accurately and promptly in EPIC, ensuring clear communication across disciplines
- Collaborate with IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory, PT and rapid response to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in unit float coverage to other acute care oncology units as needed
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state licensure required)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (oncology experience preferred but not required)
- BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
- ONS Chemo certification preferred
- Telemetry/MS-Tele experience and comfort with dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience with infusion pumps (Alaris) and cardiac telemetry systems (e.g., GE/B450) helpful
- Ability to self-schedule, work variable weekends, and float to other acute oncology units when needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with EPIC charting and electronic documentation
- Strong cardiac monitoring skills and dysrhythmia recognition
- Skilled in chemotherapy monitoring, transfusions, IV antibiotic administration and managing insulin/heparin drips
- Chest tube care, tracheostomy management and CPAP/BiPAP familiarity
- Solid infection prevention practices and fall-risk mitigation techniques
- Excellent communication, patient education and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced surgical floor
