Shift Type: Night shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour nights). Schedule set by manager (specific days vary). Every other weekend required and holidays required.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a 24-bed Med/Tele telemetry unit
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and act promptly on abnormal findings
- Manage acute care and med/surgical patients including CHF, pneumonia, diabetes, and CKD
- Administer respiratory support and manage patients on CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow oxygen
- Collaborate closely with telemonitor techs, PCTs, charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators
- Float to med/surg units as needed while maintaining continuity and safety of care
- Document thoroughly and accurately in the unit’s electronic charting system
- Work within the VIC (virtual integrated care) model and adhere to assigned schedules
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to submit Texas RN license)
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience (preferably in med/surgical/telemetry settings)
- BLS certification required
- Comfortable reading cardiac telemetry strips and responding to telemetry events
- Experience with CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Able to work 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and scheduled holidays
- Willingness to float to other med/surg units and adapt to manager-assigned schedules
Education
- Active RN license (Texas). Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma acceptable; BSN not required
- Unit-specific orientation (12 hours) required prior to assignment
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac strip interpretation
- Med/Surgical nursing fundamentals and acute care assessment
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Excellent time management and prioritization under busy ratios (6:1)
- Familiarity with electronic charting systems and unit documentation
- Comfort managing respiratory support devices (CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow)
