Shift Type: Days not specified, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Day shift); call required. Candidates with availability for 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM or 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM swings will also be considered.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and sterile field, ensuring every instrument and tray is ready for each procedure
- Assist surgeons and the OR team during orthopedic and joint cases with precision and calm under pressure
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and patient safety protocols every single case
- Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments flawlessly to keep procedures efficient and safe
- Document case details accurately in the EMR (Meditech) and support smooth handoffs between teams
- Support trauma activation and response when needed, bringing steady teamwork to critical situations
Qualifications
- CST/ORT or equivalent surgical technologist certification (CST credentials expected)
- NBSTA and DORA certifications required — candidates without these will not be considered
- Minimum 2 years OR experience (orthopedic/joint experience required)
- Comfortable with call responsibilities and flexible scheduling
- Level I trauma and general trauma experience preferred
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, and orthopedic procedures
- Proven ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced OR with high accountability
- Skillful in preparing specialty trays and ensuring OR readiness for diverse cases
- Experience with trauma protocols and ability to perform under urgent conditions
- Competence using Meditech for documentation and order workflows
- Self-direction and flexibility to adapt to shifting schedules and unit needs
