Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, manager-scheduled across Mon-Sun with every-other-weekend and holiday coverage required (day shift)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret ECG strips to detect changes early and act decisively
- Provide high-quality acute care to med/surg telemetry patients (CHF, pneumonia, CKD, diabetes, etc.)
- Manage ventilatory support including CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow nasal cannula safely and confidently
- Collaborate closely with PCTs, respiratory therapists, charge nurses and interdisciplinary teams
- Float between med/surg units as needed while maintaining excellent patient care standards
- Document care accurately in the unit’s electronic charting system and communicate clear handoffs
- Maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios and escalate concerns to charge nurse or house supervisor
- Support patient and family education to improve outcomes and promote recovery
Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible for practice in Texas (license to submit required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (med/surg/telemetry experience preferred)
- Current BLS certification required
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret ECG/strips
- Experience with ventilatory support: CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Willingness to float to other med/surg units and work every other weekend and holidays
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma accepted (BSN not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and ECG interpretation
- Med/Surg telemetry patient care
- Acute care nursing and clinical assessment
- CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
- Effective communication and teamwork with PCTs and interdisciplinary staff
- Time management, prioritization, and safe delegation
- Experience with electronic charting/other computerized systems
