Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care for adult and geriatric patients across MS-Tele and specialty units
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret rhythms to guide patient care
• Manage IV therapy and titratable drips, including heparin titration as indicated
• Chart accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain clear patient records
• Float between units (Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Ortho, ED Obs) and adapt to varying acuity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including RTs and support staff, to coordinate patient care
• Maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios and escalate concerns to leadership when needed
• Serve as a professional representative of the float pool and help fill scheduling gaps

Qualifications

• Current RN license (able to submit license documentation; state licensure required)
• Minimum 2 years of MS-Tele or telemetry nursing experience
• BLS (AHA) required, ACLS (AHA) required, NIHSS required
• Comfortable with EPIC charting and electronic documentation
• Experience with heparin titration and common telemetry drips
• Valid driver's license and willingness to obtain housing that allows floating within a 60-mile zone
• Ability to be in-state for orientation week

Education

• Nursing diploma, ADN, or BSN accepted (BSN not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition
• Cardiac, neuro, oncology, renal, and post-surgical patient care
• IV/drip management and titration practices
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record
• Basic ventilator/RT equipment familiarity including CPAP and BiPAP
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly when floating between units and acuity levels
• Teamwork and collaboration with charge nurses and interdisciplinary staff
