Shift Type: Night shifts, 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; Every Other Weekend (EOW) required (weekend nights typically Fri/Sat); includes holiday rotation (1 major & 1 minor holiday); nights, EOW, first-to-float
Hours per Week: 36

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms on Phillips telemetry and act decisively to keep patients safe
- Provide high-quality nursing care on a 31-bed telemetry unit with a 1:4 ratio
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, RT and pharmacy to coordinate care for high-acuity patients
- Assess, triage and manage patients post-pacer, dialysis, stroke, sepsis and new onset arrhythmias
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Cerner to ensure continuity of care
- Float to assigned units (MedSurg, ICU stepdown or ER holds) as the unit needs dictate
- Respond promptly to call/standby assignments (must report within 30 minutes if placed on call)
- Participate in unit orientation with a preceptor for 1-2 shifts and contribute to a positive team environment
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (must be submit-able)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care/telemetry nursing experience
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS and NIHSS
- Comfortable reading and interpreting all cardiac rhythms (Phillips telemetry experience a plus)
- Familiarity with Cerner charting system
- Willingness to float, work nights, EOW and participate in holiday rotations
- Able to respond within 30 minutes when placed on call/standby
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing accepted; BSN preferred but not required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Phillips telemetry systems and Cerner electronic charting
- CPAP/BiPAP familiarity and working with RT support
- Experience with MedSurg, ICU/Stepdown and hemodialysis patient care
- Comfort with Omnicell pharmacy workflows and secure medication systems
- Strong assessment, critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills
- Ability to manage high-acuity patients, including strokes, sepsis and post-op monitoring
