Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert care to adult and geriatric oncology patients
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor patients closely for adverse reactions
• Interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias and initiate appropriate interventions
• Perform specialized procedures including brachytherapy support and neobladder/CBI care
• Maintain central lines, manage IV therapy, and safely administer blood products
• Participate in clinical trials and ensure accurate data collection and documentation
• Implement and enforce infection prevention measures and fall prevention strategies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and activate rapid response when needed
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Support unit staffing needs and float to other MedSurg Oncology units as required

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and oncology procedures preferred
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
• Comfortable working rotating day and night 12-hour shifts
• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• Willingness to learn, grow nursing practice, and participate in clinical trials

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) — active license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting and documentation
• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Central line maintenance and blood product administration
• Feeding tube care, NG tube management and drain management
• Brachytherapy support and neobladder/CBI familiarity
• Infection prevention protocols and patient falls management
• PCA pumps, epidural management, and tracheostomy care basics
