Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Support safe and timely meal assistance and hydration for residents
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of care and resident observations
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times
• Collaborate with the care team to create a positive resident experience

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or eligibility to obtain certification
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and providing hands-on personal care
• Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and activities of daily living
• Patient safety, infection control, and proper use of PPE
• Clear and timely documentation skills
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills with residents and families
