Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in daily routines
• Document care accurately and communicate observations to the interdisciplinary team
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (required)
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to follow care plans and delegated nursing tasks reliably
• Clear background check and up-to-date health screenings as required by facility
• Professional, patient-centered attitude and strong communication skills

Education

• Completion of a GNA training program or equivalent (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic resident care and ADLs in a long-term care setting
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents and the care team
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
