Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate perioperative nursing care as the OR circulator to ensure safe, efficient surgeries
• Maintain sterile field and assist the surgical team by anticipating instrument and supply needs
• Perform patient assessments, advocate for patient safety and communicate changes to the team
• Document perioperative care thoroughly and accurately in the patient record
• Participate in Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and skills checklists to maintain excellence
• Respond to on-call notifications for nights and weekends as part of the coverage rotation
• Adhere to infection control, safety policies and licensure/certificate verification processes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (state licensure verification will be completed)
• Perioperative/OR Circulator experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass fit test, Trinity 10-panel drug screen and required health screenings/immunizations

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Strong patient assessment, advocacy and intraoperative safety skills
• Familiarity with operating room workflow and surgical instrumentation
• Effective communication and teamwork with surgeons, anesthesia and perioperative staff
• Comfortable with competency testing processes and documentation standards
