Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
• Support mobility and help prevent falls through safe transfer techniques
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and thoroughly in the resident record
• Follow infection control policies and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear communication

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent (state-specific certification required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Demonstrated compassion and experience working with older adults is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a care team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• GNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common chronic conditions
• Skilled in safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Comfortable with basic documentation and record keeping
• Ability to follow care plans and adapt to individual resident needs
• Team-oriented mindset and good time management
