Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living to preserve dignity and comfort
• Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention through attentive assistance and proper technique
• Assist with feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting and grooming while fostering independence
• Document care activities accurately and timely in the resident record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and family members to deliver person-centered care
• Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents

Qualifications

• Valid Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification; current state certification or ability to obtain Maryland credentials
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by the facility
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; empathy and patience with older adults
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus but enthusiastic learners are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and ADLs
• Familiarity with infection control and resident safety practices
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families and clinical teams
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes clearly
