Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents with dignity and respect
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document per facility protocol
- Perform thorough assessments and communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and follow individualized care plans
- Support admissions, discharges, and transitions to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and reporting
- Mentor and support facility staff during your assignment to help elevate care standards
Qualifications
- Active LPN license or RN license (eligible to work in Maine) — multistate compact license accepted if applicable
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred where applicable
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or related acute care settings preferred
- Clean background check and current immunizations per facility policy
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on travel assignments
Education
- LPN: Diploma or Certificate in Practical Nursing
- RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid clinical assessment and monitoring skills
- Medication administration and documentation proficiency
- Wound care and basic skin integrity management
- Ability to use electronic health records and complete timely charting
- Time management and prioritization during long shifts
- Team collaboration, patient advocacy, and family communication
