Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance to residents, helping maintain dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
• Accurately document care, vital signs and resident interactions in the medical record
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Promote a positive living environment by assisting with social activities and mealtime support
• Follow infection control policies and maintain a clean, safe space for residents

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required per state regulations
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required depending on facility policy
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well on a care team
• Compassionate attitude and experience working with older adult populations preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed GNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living, infection control and resident safety
• Comfort with taking vital signs, documenting care and recognizing changes in condition
• Basic lifting and transfer techniques and safe use of assistive devices
• Good observational skills and clear communication with residents and the care team
• Ability to follow care plans and facility protocols reliably
