Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Accurately document care activities and resident observations
- Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices when needed
- Collaborate with nurses, therapy staff and families to promote resident well-being
- Promote a safe, clean and dignified living environment for all residents
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (state-specific) required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is a strong plus
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility health/immunization requirements
- Reliable, compassionate attitude and strong teamwork skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved GNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused support
- Basic vital signs monitoring and infection prevention practices
- Good communication skills with residents, families and the care team
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
- Comfortable with electronic or paper documentation systems used by the facility
