Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility
• Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
• Accurately document care activities and resident observations
• Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices when needed
• Collaborate with nurses, therapy staff and families to promote resident well-being
• Promote a safe, clean and dignified living environment for all residents

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (state-specific) required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is a strong plus
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health/immunization requirements
• Reliable, compassionate attitude and strong teamwork skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused support
• Basic vital signs monitoring and infection prevention practices
• Good communication skills with residents, families and the care team
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
• Comfortable with electronic or paper documentation systems used by the facility
