Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Support mobility, transfers and safe ambulation while promoting independence
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to nursing staff
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident status
• Assist with meal service and ensure dietary needs/preferences are respected
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents safe
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Minimum relevant experience working with elderly populations preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a calm, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs, transfers and personal care
• Basic clinical observation skills and ability to report changes
• Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
• Good documentation and time-management abilities
• Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills with older adults
