Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC; specific days of week not specified in posting (to be confirmed with hiring team)

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility with dignity and compassion
- Provide routine care and support for geriatric patients, focusing on comfort and safety
- Monitor and record vital signs and any changes in condition accurately and timely
- Document care provided and communicate observations to the nursing team and charge nurse
- Support residents during mealtimes and assist with feeding when necessary
- Help create a calm, respectful environment and engage residents in social and therapeutic activities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent (Maryland certification preferred or eligible)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or willing to obtain
- Completion of an approved GNA training program and competency in geriatric care
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screen, and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
- Comfort working overnight shifts and in long-term care settings
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Successful completion of an approved GNA program or equivalent training
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and geriatric care best practices
- Skill in taking and recording vital signs and observing changes in condition
- Familiarity with infection control, safe patient handling, and documentation standards
- Ability to work compassionately with residents who have dementia or mobility challenges
- Good teamwork, time management, and interpersonal skills
