Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and maintain dignity-centered service
- Administer medications and treatments per facility policy and provider orders
- Perform thorough assessments and monitor resident condition changes
- Document care accurately and timely in the medical record
- Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and basic procedures within LPN scope
- Collaborate with RNs and the interdisciplinary team to support care plans
- Educate residents and families on care, medications, and safety measures
- Maintain infection control practices and a safe patient environment
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license — Alabama license preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
- Strong communication, time management, and clinical judgment skills
- Ability to work weekend 12.5-hour day shifts and reliably cover assigned schedule
Education
- Practical Nursing diploma or equivalent program completion
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medication administration and dosage calculations
- Comfortable with nursing assessments, vital signs monitoring, and documentation
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and charting best practices
- Infection control, wound care basics, and safe patient handling techniques
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to communicate clearly with residents and staff
