Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
• Support mobility and transfers, using safe body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident status, reporting changes to nursing staff promptly
• Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in meaningful activities
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow care plans to ensure continuity of care
• Adhere to infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents safe
• Collaborate with the care team to contribute to positive resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (required) — you must bring the credential to work
• Previous experience in long-term care or elder care preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic resident care and ADLs
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
• Knowledge of safe transfer and mobility techniques
• Familiarity with infection prevention and standard precautions
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a care team
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
