Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living for older adults
• Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, and mobility while preserving dignity
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment through proper infection control and housekeeping assistance
• Document care activities accurately in resident charts and handoffs
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident-centered care and quality of life

Qualifications

• Current Maryland GNA or CNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatric settings is a plus
• Clear background check, TB test, and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
• Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills when working with older adults and families

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an approved GNA/CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and basic mobility techniques
• Familiarity with infection prevention, hand hygiene, and standard precautions
• Good observational skills and the ability to recognize changes in resident status
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork mindset
