Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, and mobility
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Document care accurately and timely using facility procedures and charting systems
• Support safe transfers and fall prevention practices to keep residents secure
• Work alongside nurses, therapists, and families to deliver individualized care plans
• Help create a warm, home-like atmosphere through friendly interactions and meaningful engagement

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification or state-equivalent certification (required)
• Current CPR or BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working night shift hours and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
• Strong communication skills and a kind, patient bedside manner
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Resident-centered care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Basic documentation and charting for care tasks and observations
• Infection control practices and safe use of personal protective equipment
• Familiarity with dementia and geriatric care approaches
• Strong teamwork, time management, and verbal communication skills
