Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to assigned residents and patients
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document in the chart
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the RN and care team
- Perform routine assessments, vital signs, and wound care with attention to detail
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with residents, families, and staff
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the facility’s medical records system
- Support facility policies for infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Current and active LPN license in the state of Vermont
- Recent LPN experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
- Must be local — own reliable transportation is required
- Ability to start and complete an approximately 8-week local contract (2026-01-05 to 2026-02-28)
- Up-to-date BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or equivalent
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
- Willingness to comply with all RTO requirements noted in the contract
Education
- LPN diploma, certificate, or equivalent practical nursing education
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fundamentals in medication administration and documentation
- Competence with vital signs, bedside assessments, and basic wound care
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting best practices
- Good infection control practices and adherence to facility protocols
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinical environment
- Professional bedside manner and family-centered communication
