Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Monitor and record resident conditions including vital signs and behavioral observations
• Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control procedures
• Document care accurately and promptly in facility records
• Support mealtimes and hydration needs, observing dietary restrictions and assistance levels

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or state Nursing Assistant certification required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
• Comfortable working overnight hours and providing hands-on resident care
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; required GNA/CNA certification by state

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of elder care principles and common geriatric conditions
• Skill in safe resident handling and mobility assistance
• Basic clinical observation skills including measuring and reporting vital signs
• Familiarity with infection prevention and control practices
• Clear documentation and time management abilities
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with residents respectfully
