Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate nursing care for laboring patients across low and high-risk presentations
• Circulate and scrub for cesarean sections and assist in recovery and procedures (PP d&c) as needed
• Perform continuous fetal monitoring and telemetry interpretation to ensure maternal and fetal safety
• Support newborn care and immediate post-delivery needs, including basic neonatal stabilization and NRP interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — obstetricians, anesthesia, respiratory, pharmacy and rapid response teams — to coordinate patient care
• Precept and mentor colleagues when assigned, sharing best practices and strengthening unit competency
• Document accurately in Epic to maintain clear, timely patient records and support care continuity

Qualifications

• Active RN license (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience (Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred)
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, NRP; AWHONN Advanced is a hard stop (C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Demonstrated ability to circulate and scrub for C-sections; hands-on labor and delivery management experience
• Comfort and experience with telemetry/cardiac monitoring and emergency obstetric interventions
• Willingness to float to Mother/Baby (MBU) when needed; precepting experience is preferred
• Ability to complete a 24-hour orientation and adhere to RTO submission rules at time of submission

Education

• Active RN license required (degree not explicitly specified in job data — employer expects licensed RNs)

• Strong Labor & Delivery management and maternal-fetal assessment skills
• Epic electronic charting experience
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Neonatal care and newborn assessment (including NRP)
• Skilled in cesarean circulation and scrubbing
• Ability to perform non-stress tests and set up delivery tables
• Team collaboration, rapid response participation, and effective unit communication
