Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to maximize resident comfort and independence
• Take and record vital signs and report any clinical changes promptly to the nursing team
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation to support continuity of care
• Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interaction to promote emotional well-being
• Collaborate with RNs, LPNs, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or state-equivalent certification
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
• Comfort working with older adults, including residents with dementia or limited mobility
• Clean background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA training program or equivalent state training

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) support and patient hygiene
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices
• Ability to recognize and report changes in resident condition
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience with elderly populations
• Familiarity with long-term care or skilled nursing workflows
