Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, preserving dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident conditions accurately and promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfers, implementing fall-prevention measures
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team to communicate changes in condition
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care, observations, and resident interactions
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interaction to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — Maryland certification preferred or transferable
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain quickly
• Comfortable working night shifts and providing hands-on resident care
• Able to pass background checks, health screenings, and required onboarding checks
• Compassionate communicator with a patient-centered approach to care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care needs, mobility assistance, and safe transfer techniques
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs and observations
• Familiarity with infection control and personal protective equipment use
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and clinical teams
• Good time management, dependable attendance, and attention to detail
