Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly and accurately
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in therapeutic activities
• Document care delivered and observations clearly and timely in resident charts
• Follow infection control policies and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification or equivalent as required by state regulations
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatrics preferred
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and provide required immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach to care
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work night shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Basic clinical observation skills for reporting changes in condition
• Familiarity with infection control practices and documentation
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Teamwork mindset and willingness to learn from nursing staff
