Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care during overnight hours, ensuring comfort and safety
• Perform thorough assessments and document changes in patient condition promptly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and handoffs
• Respond quickly to emergencies and escalate concerns to providers as needed
• Support patient discharge planning and family education with clear, respectful communication
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license (NC licensure required or compact state privileges)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS or other specialty certifications encouraged where applicable
• Comfortable with 12+ hour night shifts and able to manage a fast-paced clinical workload
• Previous acute care or med-surg experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical skills may be considered
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse care team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; LPN candidates should hold an accredited practical nursing diploma or certificate

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Ability to prioritize tasks during busy night shifts and respond to urgent situations
• Good interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity for working in a community-focused facility
