Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor residents' condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Accurately document care provided and resident responses in the chart
- Support a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with the care team to contribute to individualized care plans
- Engage residents in meaningful activities to promote quality of life
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent state certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain quickly)
- Comfortable providing hands-on care for older adults and working in a long-term care setting
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA or nursing assistant program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Foundational geriatric care best practices and resident safety
- Assistance with ADLs, transfers, and mobility support
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Infection control, hand hygiene, and PPE usage
- Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary care teams
