Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Day (3x12) 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; Night (3x12) 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Rotating assignments including weekends; shift assignments reviewed every 4 weeks

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Float between Oncology Medical-Surgical units and PCU to deliver high-quality patient care
- Safeguard staff and patient safety in a secure corrections unit environment working with Corrections Officers
- Provide comprehensive oncology and medical-surgical nursing, including blood product administration and chemotherapy monitoring when applicable
- Manage telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias, responding swiftly with appropriate interventions
- Perform central and peripheral line care, PICC management, IV starts, and IV insulin protocol administration
- Care for respiratory needs including HFNC, CPAP/BIPAP, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
- Support pre/post hemodialysis patients and manage renal failure care needs
- Document accurately in EPIC and medicate via Pyxis while collaborating with multidisciplinary support services
- Participate in Rapid Response/Code teams and escalate care when patient condition changes
- Maintain isolation precautions and corrections-specific safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience as stated in the job posting
- EPIC charting experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Experience or comfort with oncology care preferred but not required
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
- Comfort working in a locked corrections unit with CO access controls and staff safety procedures
- Travel experience not required; strong orientation program provided (72 hours)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing
- Epic electronic charting and Pyxis medication system
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and PICC/central line care
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Tracheostomy care, feeding tube management, and non-invasive airway support
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), CPAP/BIPAP, and ABG interpretation
- Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
- IV insulin protocols, PCA, heparin protocols, and management of cardiac drips (no titration)
- Chemotherapy monitoring and oncology patient management
- Use of Rapid Response and Code teams; strong interdisciplinary collaboration
