Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting daily living activities
- Monitor resident well-being and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and fall prevention measures
- Support personalized care plans and promote resident dignity and independence
- Document care events accurately and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (or state-equivalent) required
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatric settings is a plus
- Ability to pass background checks and health screenings (TB test, immunizations)
- Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful bedside manner
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and activities of daily living assistance
- Skill with safe resident transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention
- Ability to observe, document, and report clinical changes accurately
- Interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and a multidisciplinary team
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
