Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting daily living activities
• Monitor resident well-being and promptly report changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and fall prevention measures
• Support personalized care plans and promote resident dignity and independence
• Document care events accurately and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (or state-equivalent) required
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks and health screenings (TB test, immunizations)
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and activities of daily living assistance
• Skill with safe resident transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention
• Ability to observe, document, and report clinical changes accurately
• Interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and a multidisciplinary team
• Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
