Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and toileting assistance
• Take and record vital signs accurately, reporting changes to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Assist with meal service and document intake as required
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans
• Create a respectful, comfortable environment that honors patients’ dignity and preferences

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in New Mexico
• Active basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable performing hands-on patient care with attention to safety and detail
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements (background check, TB screen, etc.)

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven ability to perform ADLs (activities of daily living) with compassion and professionalism
• Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observations
• Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Clear, timely documentation and communication with nursing staff
• Understanding of infection prevention and patient safety principles
• Customer-service mindset for interacting with patients and families
