Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents, helping them maintain dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
- Take and document vital signs, monitor resident condition and report changes to the nursing team
- Support safe mobility and fall-prevention measures while encouraging independence
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families and the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification or equivalent (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background/health screenings as required
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first mindset
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Skilled in safe resident handling and mobility assistance
- Comfortable with charting, basic clinical measurements and care plans
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to resident safety and comfort
