Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
- Accurately record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team
- Assist with activities of daily living to promote dignity and independence
- Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Collaborate with RNs and LPNs to follow care plans and ensure continuity of care
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear communication
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain quickly
- Comfortable working in long-term care or similar settings; previous experience a plus
- Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs and resident-centered care approaches
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and basic safety procedures
- Good observational skills to recognize changes in resident condition
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective teamwork skills
