Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
- Support meal service and feeding assistance while monitoring dietary needs
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to clinical staff promptly
- Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection-control protocols
- Document care accurately and timely in resident records and communicate with the care team
- Help create a warm, engaging atmosphere that supports residents’ emotional and social needs
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited GNA program
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain quickly)
- Ability to pass background checks, TB screening and required immunizations
- Comfortable working the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift and collaborating with a team
- Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic bedside manner
Education
- High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and safe resident transfers
- Knowledge of basic infection control and safety practices
- Ability to observe, document and communicate changes in resident condition
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and respect for resident dignity
