Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
• Support mobility and safe transfers to help residents stay active and independent
• Monitor and record vital signs and any changes in condition accurately
• Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in meaningful activities
• Follow care plans and communicate observations to the nursing team promptly
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred
• Ability to pass background check, TB test, and required immunizations
• Comfortable working with older adults and supporting mobility-limited residents
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous long-term care or geriatric experience a plus, recent clinical experience welcomed

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• GNA certification or state-equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Gentle, patient-focused personal care techniques for older adults
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, toileting, feeding assistance
• Documentation and charting practices for long-term care settings
• Infection control, PPE use, and safe handling procedures
• Observation skills to identify changes in mood, behavior, or health
• Effective communication with residents, families, and care teams
