Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
- Monitor residents' conditions, report changes, and collaborate with the care team
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge activities to ensure smooth transitions
- Support wound care, basic assessments, and restorative nursing activities
- Communicate clearly with families and interdisciplinary staff to advocate for residents
- Follow facility policies and safety protocols to maintain a high standard of care
Qualifications
- Current LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) licensure in good standing
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Reliable transportation required (must have own transportation)
- Willingness to work weekends and evening shifts as noted in the assignment
- Adherence to all RTO terms as described in the contract for approval
- Previous long-term care or med-surg experience is a plus
Education
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program; LPN/LVN diploma or certificate required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medication administration and documentation skills
- Basic wound care and infection control knowledge
- Comfortable with electronic charting and resident assessments
- Good clinical judgement and ability to escalate concerns appropriately
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care environment
