Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident record
• Collaborate with nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
• Help create a warm, home-like environment that promotes resident wellbeing

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
• Ability to obtain Maryland state certification if required
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
• Comfortable working with older adults and managing common geriatric care needs
• Willingness to complete facility-required screening including background check and immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with bathing, feeding, toileting, and bedside care
• Basic knowledge of infection control and safe handling procedures
• Ability to take and record vital signs and observe changes in condition
• Good documentation and communication with nursing staff
• Compassionate approach and patience when working with memory-impaired residents
• Time management skills to balance resident needs and unit tasks

This is a travel contract role.
