Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document care accurately and timely in the resident record
- Collaborate with nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
- Help create a warm, home-like environment that promotes resident wellbeing
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
- Ability to obtain Maryland state certification if required
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
- Comfortable working with older adults and managing common geriatric care needs
- Willingness to complete facility-required screening including background check and immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent training
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with bathing, feeding, toileting, and bedside care
- Basic knowledge of infection control and safe handling procedures
- Ability to take and record vital signs and observe changes in condition
- Good documentation and communication with nursing staff
- Compassionate approach and patience when working with memory-impaired residents
- Time management skills to balance resident needs and unit tasks
