Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory care across all hospital areas — from neonates to geriatrics
• Act as the in-house Respiratory Therapist on assigned shifts, responsibly managing the department when sole RT coverage is required
• Stabilize trauma and stroke patients for safe transfer, working closely with the ED and transfer teams
• Assist with mechanical deliveries and complicated neonatal delivery/C-section cases when needed
• Deliver routine respiratory treatments on med/surg units and assist with EKGs as requested
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and ventilators (per facility policy) and coordinate transfer of ventilated patients when appropriate
• Participate in unit orientation (three 12-hour shifts) and support team communication and patient flow

Qualifications

• Current North Dakota Respiratory Therapy license (required)
• RRT or CRT (must have one), plus BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience (acute care experience preferred)
• Comfortable working independently as the sole in-house RT and providing care to all ages including neonatal patients
• Experience with trauma/stroke stabilization and call/standby coverage
• Ability to complete required orientation and verify certifications upon submission

Education

• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate degree or equivalent) is preferred; state licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with hospital charting systems (MEDITECH familiarity is a plus)
• Hands-on experience with Airvo, PB 840, PB 980, LVT 1200, Hamilton G-5, V-60 Respironics and BirdBlenders
• Mechanical ventilator knowledge and ability to assist with ventilator-related tasks and transfers
• Strong assessment skills across neonatal, pediatric and adult populations
• Comfort assisting with EKGs and participating in emergency stabilization
