Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality circulating nursing care for Endoscopy/GI procedures such as EUS and ERCP
• Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, and supplies to ensure smooth workflow
• Assist providers and tech staff during advanced endoscopic procedures
• Document care accurately in EPIC and communicate patient status clearly
• Monitor patient safety before, during, and after procedures, intervening as needed
• Participate in orientation and demonstrate competency on skills checks
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support acute care needs in the GI lab
• Uphold infection control and facility policies, including fingernail and PPE standards

Qualifications

• Current RN license for the state of Nebraska
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (unit experience in Endoscopy/GI preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• EPIC charting experience preferred; recent EPIC experience within 6 months is a plus
• Strong circulating and teching skills for advanced procedures (EUS, ERCP)
• Ability to complete orientation skills exam and achieve required passing score
• Willingness to adhere to facility policies including fingernail/artificial nail policy
• Comfort with weekday call rotation and occasional weekend call

Education

• Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN accepted); BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven competency in endoscopy/GI procedures and circulating duties
• Familiarity with EPIC charting workflows and documentation standards
• Skilled in patient monitoring, sedation support, and peri-procedural care
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced acute care setting
• Strong procedural setup and instrument handling (teching) abilities
• Attention to detail, infection control practices, and safety protocols
