Shift Type: 4x10 schedule (manager-assigned, variable days) Monday-Friday — 10-hour shifts with start times of 6:30 AM, 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM (typical windows: 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM). Evenings/rotating coverage with 1 call per 4-week schedule (weeknight call covers end of shift until 7:00 AM next morning; weekend call is 24 hours, 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM, rotated).

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub and maintain a sterile field for a high-volume, complex caseload across 16 service lines
- Prepare OR suites and instruments for cases including ENT, GYN, Urology, Neuro, Cardio/Thoracic, Orthopedics and Transplant
- Assist and troubleshoot during DaVinci Xi robotic procedures in GYN, Uro and General surgery
- Perform instrument counts, sterile technique checks and ensure patient safety every case
- Document perioperative care in Cerner and communicate case needs with the surgical team
- Respond to call assignments promptly (30 minute response time) and provide reliable coverage
- Participate in unit-specific orientation and on-site online training during first week
- Collaborate with surgeons, charge nurses and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional care
Qualifications
- Washington State Surgical Technologist license required at time of submittal (no pending licenses)
- Washington State CST registration (state registry) required — national CST not required
- BLS certification current and active
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program
- Minimum 1 year of scrubbing/OR experience required; first-time travelers are welcome
- DaVinci Xi robotic experience required (GYN, Uro, General)
- Hands-on ENT case experience (FESS, septoplasty, cochlear implant, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy and soft tissue thyroid/parathyroid) highly preferred
- Ability to work 4x10 shifts, participate in call rotation, and adapt to variable start times
Education
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program (certificate, diploma or associate level)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong sterile technique and operating room procedure knowledge
- Experience with robotic systems (DaVinci Xi) and robotics workflow
- Familiarity with Cerner charting and perioperative documentation
- Comfort with complex and high-volume case mix (transplants, cardiac, neuro, ortho)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a multi-floor OR environment
- Ability to prioritize, stay calm under pressure and support teaching-oriented surgical teams
- Flexibility to cover evening shifts and call rotations with dependable response times
