Shift Type: Rotating (Day/Evening), 4x10s (days vary), 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (flex to 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM); includes evenings, weekends and on-call (20 minute trauma response / 30 minute non-trauma response)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile field and instruments for a wide range of operative cases, ensuring patient safety every time
- Scrub and assist during procedures across specialties — neuro, spine, ortho, vascular, thoracic, general, gyn, urology, ENT, robotics and plastics
- Respond rapidly to trauma and emergency calls (20 minute trauma response) and support the team during high-acuity events
- Instrument handling, passing and counts — be the steady pair of hands the surgeon relies on
- Document perioperative care and case details in EPIC accurately and timely
- Support float coverage to Walters Surgery when needed, stepping into different OR teams smoothly
- Participate in unit orientation and ongoing education to keep skills sharp and up-to-date
Qualifications
- WA license (required) — must be eligible to work in Washington state
- BLS certification (required) — bring that airway confidence
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
- Prefer trauma experience — you’ll be part of a high-acuity program
- Familiarity with EPIC and Qgenda is a plus
- Able to meet call response expectations: 20 minutes for trauma, 30 minutes for non-trauma
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and scrubbing procedures
- Comfortable with a broad case mix including robotics, neuro, spine and orthopedics
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care OR environment
- Proficient with perioperative documentation in EPIC
- Skilled at multitasking, instrument management and surgical counts
- Team-oriented communication with surgeons, RNs and house supervisors
