Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 10-hour day shifts (start times vary by week: 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM, or 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM); typical schedule is 4x10; includes 1 call per 4-week schedule (weekday call: end of shift to 7:00 AM next day; weekend call: 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM rotated). Day shifts with scheduled call rotation.

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist during a wide variety of complex surgical cases, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety
- Prepare, organize, and maintain OR instrumentation and supplies across multiple service lines and suites
- Operate and support robotic procedures using the DaVinci Xi system in GYN, Urology, and General surgery
- Provide perioperative patient care—from pre-op set up through post-op handoff—with attention to detail
- Chart accurately in Cerner and maintain clear communication with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing teams
- Adapt to a high-volume environment (50-65 cases per day across multiple floors) while staying calm under pressure
- Participate in unit orientation and mentorship, helping new team members and travelers get up to speed
- Respond to call pages within the required response time and support the team during off-hours
Qualifications
- WA State surgical technologist license required at time of submittal (no pending licenses will be reviewed)
- Washington State CST registration required (national CST not required if registered with WA)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of scrubbing experience in the OR; first-time travelers are welcome
- Hands-on experience with DaVinci Xi robotic system required (Gyn, Uro, General)
- Experience with ENT procedures (FESS, septoplasty, cochlear implant, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy) highly preferred
- Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes; comfortable with occasional weekend and weekday call shifts
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program
Education
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program (diploma or certificate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong mastery of sterile technique, OR instrumentation, and perioperative patient care
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting and documentation workflows
- Comfort working across many specialties: GYN, Urology, Vascular, Plastic, Ortho, Neuro, Cardiothoracic, General, Transplant, ENT
- Proven ability to support large and complex cases and to work in high-volume surgical suites
- Robotic surgery skills and troubleshooting experience with DaVinci Xi
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and the ability to teach and learn on the fly
- Time management and adaptability to variable start times and fast-paced schedules
